Photomontages
We have produced visual images, or photomontages, as part of our planning application to show how the wind farm will look from a variety of viewpoints.
Methodology of Montages
The selection of these viewpoints were chosen in order to establish a broad sample throughout the area and at different distances from the Proposal site as recommended by Scottish Natural Heritage document The Visual Representation of Windfarms Good Practice Guidance. SNH, 2006. This initial selection was submitted to the Daventry District Council who amended and approved it. This forms the basis for the visual assessment contained within the ES.
The photographs used to construct the photomontages have been taken on a digital SLR camera and converted to the equivalent of using a fixed 50mm focal length lens on a traditional SLR.
Images are professionally produced in order to offer an accurate prediction of the wind farm's eventual appearance. Here you can compare a photomontage created during the planning process of our Burton Wold Wind Farm with the same view of the now operational site.
