Noise
Background noise monitoring has been conducted at various locations around the proposed site. The measurement locations and the way in which the noise monitoring was carried out were agreed in advance with the Environmental Health Department at Daventry District Council. The background noise data has been used in an assessment of the noise levels expected during operation of the wind farm. This assessment shows that noise levels from the operation of the proposed wind farm will not only meet the relevant limits, but will be below the existing background noise levels at all measurement locations.
We invite all members of the local community to visit a wind farm to see and hear an operational wind farm for themselves.
An indicative table of noise levels from everyday activities, taken from The Scottish Office, Environment Department, Planning Advice Note, PAN 45, Annex A: Wind Power, A.27. Renewable Energy Technologies, August 1994.
