Ecology

Detailed ecological assessments have been conducted at the site and in the immediate surroundings to identify any areas of ecological interest that may be affected by our proposal.

Bird surveys were undertaken between November 2007 and June 2008. Overall, the ornithological value of the site has been assessed as being of low value, however various improvements are planned to enhance the local bird habitats. This includes introducing more planted areas to attract small birds, maintaining hedgerows, and erecting tree sparrow boxes.

Overall, no significant long term effects on ecology were identified. The habitat enhancement measures would increase the quantity and quality of all ecologically valuable habitats on and around the site.
