Construction
A full transportation and construction assessment has been conducted.
During construction, the site would be accessed by Junction 18 of the M1, via the A428. On site, the existing farm tracks will be used where possible. Upon exiting the site, all traffic will be required to turn left onto the A428.
We have devised our access route following local consultation to ensure that no construction traffic passes through Crick, Lilbourne or Yelvertoft.
A comparison of forecast traffic levels with the existing traffic flows suggests that there will be no significant effects from the construction phase. When the Proposal is operational, very little traffic will be generated.
The transportation of large or heavy loads will be done under Police or specialist supervision.
Grid Access
Access to the local grid is essential to ensure that the wind farm will be able to export the electricity. At Yelvertoft, the grid connection is likely to be via a 33kV connection in Crick, off the A428 near the Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal. It is likely that the grid connection cabling will be run underground adjacent to public roads.
The Design and Access Statement, is a document outlining the design principles of the proposal, and how issues relating to access have been dealt with.
