Yelvertoft Wind Farm
We submitted our proposal in April 2009 for an 8-turbine wind farm in the Daventry district of Northamptonshire, between Daventry and the M1.
The wind farm will generate on average between 43,000 and
45,000 MWh of safe, clean, renewable energy every year for 25 years. This is equivalent to the annual needs of between 9,100 and 9,600 homes - approximately 32 to 34% of the district's households.
Each turbine consists of an 80 metre tower, with blades measuring 45 metres in diameter, for a total height of 125 metres.
We are committed to providing a Community Benefit Fund of up to £1.2M for the surrounding area.
Yelvertoft Wind Farm will also produce electricity without the need for overhead power cables and farming can continue on the site up to the base of the turbines, reducing the scheme's impact on the landscape.
